Guided by an NTJN Steering Committee Vice-Chairperson, Linda Nguyen and NTJN Coordinator, Melissa Young, this session will include a walk-through the Transitional Jobs model with persons who are new to the field or for those that want to brush-up on the basic components of the Transitional Jobs model. This session will offer an overview and should be followed by other Transitional Jobs 101 or Building Block Sessions.

Transitional Jobs Program Staffing & Budget Development
How many staff members and how much money do you really need to start or expand a Transitional Jobs program? Administrators from existing programs will share the basics for developing staff structures and budgets for two different Transitional Jobs models – the scattered site and the work crew models. Tools will be provided to help session attendees project costs associated with each model.

Transitional Jobs program administrators and facilitators will discuss the challenges associated with the scattered work site model and strategies that can be used to overcome them. This session is designed to give attendees, who are interested in developing Transitional Jobs program or are just starting a program, the opportunity to discuss their efforts as they relate to the scattered work site model. This is an interactive session, as attendees will dialogue with their peers and learn from experts’ best practices in the field.
